Asia Business Monitor 2009

Since 2005, the UPS Asia Business Monitor (ABM) has been the voice of small-to-medium-sized enterprises delivering the latest insights on the changing opinions, attitudes and habits of its business leaders in Asia Pacific. SMEs are key drivers of economic growth and productivity across the region and make up about 99 % of enterprises in the regional APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) economy. They are estimated to contribute between 30% and 60% of the Asia region’s GDP. Through the ABM, UPS has gained a better understanding of their needs and concerns by exploring the factors directly impacting their competitiveness. The UPS Asia Business Monitor surveys 1,200 business decision makers in 12 countries that include Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
